This episode explores a Ballot Initiative that would require CalRecycle to adopt regulations reducing plastic waste, including requirements that single-use plastic packaging, containers, and utensils be reusable, recyclable, or compostable, and prohibit polystyrene container use by food vendors. Panelists Rob Lapsley, of the California Business Roundtable and Jay Ziegler, of The Nature Conservancy, discuss the merits of the Referendum. The panel was moderated by Randol White of Capital Public Radio.
